Piracetam

Piracetam suggested uses include for Alzheimer's disease, dementia, memory dysfunction, alcoholism, Raynaud's phenomenon, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), stroke, tardive dyskinesia, dyslexia, brain injury, and vertigo.

• Piracetam is approved in many European countries for myoclonus, and aging-related conditions (dementia, Alzheimer's).
• Some clinical studies show piracetam is effective for dyslexia, brain injury, and vertigo.
• Piracetam is available under the following different brand and other names: dinagen, myocalm, nootropil, and qropi.

Dosages of Piracetam:

Suggested Dosing

• Adult: 1.6-9.6 g/day orally

Dosage Considerations – Should be Given as Follows:

• Children under 16 years old: not recommended

Common side effects of piracetam include:

• Diarrhea
• Weight gain
• Drowsiness
• Insomnia
• Nervousness
• Depression
• Muscle spasm
• Hyperactivity
• Rash

  • tirofiban
• Mild interactions of piracetam include:
  • levothyroxine
  • liothyronine
  • thyroid desiccated

Warnings

This medication contains piracetam. Do not take dinagen, myocalm, nootropil, or qropi if you are allergic to piracetam or any ingredients contained in this drug.

Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.
