Special Issue on Food Production and Sustainability

 

Access to affordable and quality food is one of the key challenges of our time - to feed a growing world population, to feed it adequately and to feed it using sustainable production practices. Food production entails intensive and extensive relationships with the natural environment. Many of the world’s key environmental problems today are related to agricultural practices.

 

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring food production and sustainability. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Genetically modified foods and organic foods
  • Natural disasters and food supply
  • Food production and water supply
  • Agricultural fossil fuel use and rising energy costs
  • Soil depletion, erosion and remedies
  • Agriculture and deforestation
  • Hydroponic and low-carbon agriculture
  • The global food market

 

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal at Paper Submission System.

 

Please kindly specify the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue – Food Production and Sustainability” should be selected during your submission.
